:restaurant and then follow people that were leaving bww. They suspected most people who were there on a weekend night would probably drink more than they should. From what I heard they arrested a lot of people, however word got around that someone was trying to sue them for entrapment.:
I wouldn't call this entrapment however I do disagree with their tactics. Just because a cop is not there, doesn't give you the right to drive home drunk (above 0.08) therefore having a cop there does nothing to change the outcome of the situation if he was pulled over for any other reason. If they follow you home from a bar they still need a valid reason to pull you over however. This is why they will follow you around with their camera turned on recording everything until they feel they have enough for a valid stop. Then they still have to prove that he fails a fst (field sobriety test) or he can get an order for a blood/urine test. Its kinda like a cop hiding and then using laser to get a reading and pull someone over for a ticket or even a cop being undercover for a narcotics sting. Just because the cop was there but not known doesn't mean that he's forcing you to do something that is illegal. You still make that choice freely aware of the consequences (in most cases) of your actions.
